Whilst travelling in Japan in 2004 a guy named Matt, from Scotland, took a picture of a girl taking a photograph. When he got home he posted the picture on Flickr with the title, “Mystery Girl in Harajuku.”
A friend of the ‘mystery girl’ happened upon Matt’s pic, recognised her from a distinctive tattoo across her shoulders and forwarded the link to her. Mystery girl, Cherry, posted a comment on Matt’s Flickr site identifying herself and including a link to the photo she was taking at the time. Cherry, it turned out, lived in London, so three months later Matt went to visit her… and they fell in love.
