Dan and I went to see Coldplay at Wembley on Saturday, our second trip to the great stadium this summer having seen U2 there in August.
In what must rank as one of the most creative line up of support acts, White Lies were followed by Girls Aloud and then Jay-Z, all of which made for a varied evening.
Coldplay played a solid 2 hours in a confident performance that engaged the crowd at every opportunity. In a move reminiscent of U2's stage 'among the crowd' the band performed some songs from the end of one of the stage extensions and later performed on a small 'acoustic' set towards the back of the stadium including a version of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean" before returning to the main stage. The set, lighting and sound were all excellent with a class leading live production from the video team that supported but didn't overwhelm the band themselves.
All in all another fab evening out.
